Eligibility: High school students in grades 9–12.
Exam Date & Duration: April 2026, 50 minutes.

Eligibility: High school students in grades 9–12.
Exam Date: January 2027.
Exam Format: 90 minutes. The number of questions increases annually (reaching up to 297 in 2025). The exam paper is provided in both Chinese and English.
Exam Scope: Biochemistry, genetics, plant and animal physiology, and ecology. The content closely aligns with the A-Level biology syllabus.
BBO Award Preparation Strategies
Build Comprehensive Knowledge: Cover all tested areas including plant/animal physiology, genetics, ecology, and cell biology. Use the A-Level biology framework to broaden your understanding, memorize key terminology in both Chinese and English, and address less common knowledge points.
