The Open Exam is the entry round of the USA Biology Olympiad: 50 multiple-choice questions in 50 minutes, taken in English. It covers the full breadth of the life sciences — cell and molecular biology, genetics and evolution, plant and animal anatomy and physiology, ethology, and ecology — and rewards genuine understanding rather than memorisation.
